School Life

Every day at Avenue House School is filled with opportunities—to explore, to play, to inquire, and to grow.

Whether in the classroom, the playground, the music room, or during enrichment activities, children are encouraged to embrace new experiences and develop their own passions.

The School Day

Children are welcome to arrive at school from 8:00am each day.

Each morning, the Headteacher greets pupils as they arrive before they make their way to their classrooms for Form Time.

During Form Time, children settle in and prepare for the day ahead by organising their belongings and getting ready for learning. They also take part in a range of carefully planned activities led by their Form Teacher. These may include learning through play, guided reading with an adult (particularly in EYFS and KS1), and a variety of engaging enrichment tasks.

Following Form Time, pupils participate in a range of whole-school and group activities, such as mindfulness sessions, assemblies, and meetings for the School Council or Eco-Committee. These experiences help to support pupils’ wellbeing, personal development, and sense of community.

School Lunch

Our school lunches are freshly prepared on-site each day and follow a carefully planned three-week rotating menu. We understand the importance of a balanced and varied diet in supporting children’s physical and mental wellbeing, so every menu is reviewed by regularly to ensure it provides the nutrients pupils need to stay healthy, focused, and ready to learn.
